Attaining, and maintaining, purity of mind is a lot harder than it may seem. One must first reconnect with one’s fundamental nature, that purity of mind that existed when one was a child. Then, one must constantly be on guard against any perturbation of that pure and peaceful state.
Jealousy, anger, hatred, regret, doubt, anxiety, lust, revengeful thoughts, to name a few- they all can shake your internal cage, and take you away from that peaceful purity that took so much focus to attain.
Try to get to this purity of mind, and then hold on to it, until you must reattain it and start the cycle all over again. Each time should bring you closer to your goal.
